I found myself in an eq party lead by Atletico (secondary of Caped). He was needing a blaster for Akira and I volunteered. As I have never before killed Akira, it was interesting experience and went quite smoothly. The party itself lasted about 2 hours in total, while Akira himself was handled in 30 minutes (by 9 man party).

I diced nothing, but got a new party kill:

Channeller personal force field spell

I have quite high hpmax, thanks to full hpmax and con boons, but in addition, I kept the personal force field spell on during the bigger monsters. The spell saved me quite many times.

For example, when a monster hit the party with killing cloud, I suffered only about 289 hp damage when the personal force field was on. Same with hailstorm:

You struggle to maintain the force field and deflect some of the damage.
That really HURT!

Akira, the Spirit King asks 'So, you think you can kill me?'

For comparison, zombie mage (Astrax) took 681 hp damage from the same hailstorm.
